“What’s the point of having a voice if you’re gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn’t be?”
Sixteen-year-old Starr lives in two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she was born and raised and her posh high school in the suburbs. The uneasy balance between them is shattered when Starr is the only witness to the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil, by a police officer. Now what Starr says could destroy her community. It could also get her killed.
This review is sooo overdue. I have a feeling that I was the only person left on this planet who hadn’t read this book yet. The Hate U Give is sooo amazing! I can’t believe it took me this long to pick this book up. I really loved story line, it’s amazing! I love the characters, they were created and described so well.
I love Angie Thomas writing style. Her writing was clear and so easy to understand. There was no parts that dragged, Which I really liked. I am looking forward to reading more of her books in near future.
